NASA: United States could face “megadrought” because of global warming
NASA scientists say something needs to change to prevent drought conditions from becoming worse.
NASA issued a warning, saying the western part of the United States could face a “megadrought” by the end of the century.
They say the cause is linked to global warming.
A study by the agency says that such a drought could last for decades.
Also, their research indicated that it could last longer and be drier than any droughts the United States has seen in the last 1,000 years.
The agency says the risk is heightened because of the rise in greenhouse gas emissions.
